"Don't ask how you can motivate others, but rather how you can create the conditions in which they motivate themselves." – Edward Deci
Every educator dreams of seeing learners who are curious, creative and motivated to take ownership of their learning. But how can we nurture self-determination in an education system that often relies on control, pressure and reward?

In this interactive workshop, you'll discover self-determined learning, a powerful framework that helps you understand what drives motivation and wellbeing.

We'll explore the difference between controlled motivation, which is fueled by fear, pressure and rewards, and autonomous motivation, which grows from curiosity, choice, and personal interest.

Through engaging activities and design thinking, you'll reflect on your own experiences, identify barriers to intrinsic motivation, and co-create strategies to grow autonomy in your learning community.

You'll see how autonomy unlocks creativity, perseverance, problem-solving, and supports wellbeing by simulating environments that encourage authentic motivation.

You'll leave with actionable ideas and inspiration to design learning experiences that are empowering, meaningful and sustainable.

If you want to shift from "How can I motivate others?" to "How can I create the conditions for people to motivate themselves?", this session is for you.
