Next Generation Primary Educator, start 2024-25

Are you passionate about working with 6-11 year olds? Has the experience of teaching in a traditional context driven you to the point of leaving teaching? Then, this may be the role for you ...

Learnlife is seeking a multi-talented Learning Guide to co-create our primary age program.

Learnlife’s mission is to create a paradigm shift in learning worldwide. We are creating a new learning model that empowers happy, lifelong learners, and is responsive to the needs and preferences of today’s and future generations. Get a glimpse of how we learn here.

    Role overview:

    • Guide learners through daily learning experiences, tracking their growth, needs, and individualised planning.
    • Work collaboratively with the learning team to oversee learning in particular areas for all three programme groups: Adventurers (ages 5-7), Discoverers (ages 8 & 9), and Pioneers (ages 10-12).
    • Establish Individual Learning Plans as needed for learners needing higher levels of support, as well as enrichment opportunities for those ready for varied areas of growth.
    • Work in collaboration with the Learning Team to design and execute meaningful learning experiences for learners ages 5-12.
    • Maintain a healthy culture and climate for learners, promoting confidence, agency, and self-management skills as they become self-directed learners. Recognize when these areas are lacking and provide the support needed, in partnership with the rest of the learning team and the family.
    • Work in close collaboration with the Learning Guide Assistants and interns.
    • Serve as mentor and primary point person for learners. Communicate regularly with the parents of mentees (in person meetings and email), meet with mentees on a consistent basis, and discuss their progress with the rest of the learning team to keep a pulse on their areas of strength and need.
    • Participate in regular planning, collaboration, and professional development with the Eco Hub learning team. This includes weekly planning and collaboration, as well as more intensive design phases between cycles.
    • Coordinate, as needed, with the larger Learnlife community, including operations, finance, and admissions.
    • Set an example to learners of our community (Eco Hub) and company (Learnlife) values.

    You bring:

    • 3-5 years experience working with 6-12 year olds, most of which is in innovative learning environments.
    • Bachelor degree in primary education will be a plus
    • Experience in developing and implementing learning experiences from ideation through implementation and analysis.
    • Experience developing and delivering non-traditional literacy programs. Bonus points for experience with phonics.
    • Native, Bilingual or C2 level of English is a must and Spanish would be preferred.
    • Ability to quickly connect and build trust with children.
    • Experience in supporting primary age learners: guiding, facilitating, mentoring, counselling, tutoring, etc. At the core of all of these is the capacity to build strong, positive relationships, and to identify what role you need to play for each learner.
    • Capacity to draw from a wide variety of learning methodologies and apply them appropriately based on the context and the learner.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and creatively in a fast-paced, agile environment
    • Willingness to learn from failure, ask for help when you need it, embracing an iterative process.
